About Me

Hi, I’m Eugen — and my journey into the world of children’s toys started long before SEO tools, social media, or even YouTube existed.

Back in 2004, when I was still in high school, I built my very first website: Child-Toys-Guide.com. I didn’t know anything about “niches” or “content strategy” at the time. What I did know was that every parent in my family came to me with the same question:

“Eugen, you’re good with computers… can you help me find a good toy for my kid?”

My cousins were toddlers, my friends’ younger siblings were growing fast, and my parents had already turned me into the unofficial family “toy researcher.” I was the one reading reviews on early forums, comparing safety notes, looking up which toys actually helped kids learn something, and which ones were just flashy plastic destined for the bottom of a toy box.

So I decided to put everything I was learning online. No budget. No plan. Just HTML pages, hand-built at the school library after classes, with a dial-up connection at home that disconnected if someone picked up the phone.

I still remember publishing my first guide — a tiny article about wooden puzzles — and feeling like I had just launched something huge. And in a way, I had. Over time, parents started emailing me. Some asked what toys to choose for a 2-year-old who couldn’t sit still. Others asked which toys would help their child develop fine motor skills. A few even told me the toys I recommended became their child’s favorites.

Those messages stuck with me. They taught me something important:

Parents don’t want a list of products — they want confidence.
A little clarity.
A bit of guidance from someone who genuinely cares.

Fast-forward to today, and that simple high-school project has grown into a much larger mission. With ToyGuideHub.com, I’m bringing back that same spirit — but with better research, deeper experience, and a commitment to helping parents choose toys that actually make a difference.

Why I Still Write About Toys Today

A lot has changed since 2004, but a few things have stayed exactly the same:

  • Kids learn best when they play.
  • The right toy can spark years of curiosity.
  • A trusted recommendation is more valuable than any algorithm.

I’ve spent decades watching how children interact with puzzles, building sets, Montessori materials, STEM kits, sensory toys, and more. The educational landscape keeps evolving — and so does the toy industry — but my goal remains simple:

Help you discover toys that are safe, meaningful, developmentally appropriate, and genuinely fun.

What You’ll Find on This Site

Here, I combine decades of research and real-world observation to bring you:

  • In-depth toy guides based on developmental stages
  • Montessori and STEM recommendations
  • Long-form, practical articles crafted to help you choose confidently
  • Honest insight into what makes a toy worth buying
  • Product suggestions that reflect what I’d personally recommend to friends and family

I’m not here to overwhelm you with lists — I’m here to simplify your search and support your child’s growth, one well-chosen toy at a time.

A Personal Note

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. It still feels surreal that a website I built as a teenager, purely out of curiosity and a desire to help, eventually grew into a trusted resource for parents around the world.

I hope the guides here make your toy-choosing journey easier, more informed, and maybe even a little joyful — the way it always felt back in 2004.

If you ever have a question or want a personalized recommendation, you can always reach out. I still answer emails the same way I did back then: one parent at a time.
